Chief Minister Shri Conrad K Sangma inaugurated the first-ever Rural PRIME hub at Songsak in East Garo Hills Meghalaya on 30th November in presence of Advisor to Chief Minister and MLA of North Tura Shri Thomas A Sangma, Govt Chief Whip Shri Marcuise Marak, MLA Siju – Rongara Shri Rakkam Sangma, Rongjeng MLA Shri Jim Sangma, CEO SELCO Foundation Dr. Harish Hande and CEO MBMA Dr. Vijay Kumar.

SPARK Hills is a unique Farm-Based Livelihood Education School (FABLES) and Promotion and Incubation of Market-Driven Enterprises (PRIME) hub initiative brought to life by BAKDIL. Located at the heart of Samin Rongalgre village the SPARK hills will be the skill developing center for the farmers and young entrepreneurs.

The objective of PRIME hub is to make entrepreneurship a preferred career choice for the youth of the State through the creation of a dynamic and collaborative ecosystem that enables easy availability of credit, relevant technology, skilling and mentoring support, and access to high leverage markets.

While speaking to the crowds Shri Conrad said that in the next few years 50 such PRIME hubs will be launched across the State that would cater to the needs of skill-based education. He also encouraged the youth to prefer entrepreneurship as a career option as the availability of government jobs is not sufficient to recruit all the youths.

“Govt job has been saturated, youth has to take up entrepreneurship as their career option and the government will provide all the necessary training and skill development educations through PRIME Hub”, Mr. Sangma Said.

He also promised to give his 100% support for setting up of dispensary and to make it one of the best dispensaries in the area. The dispensary at SPARK Hills will be fully equipped for antenatal care and for examining malaria and other diseases. It aims to prevent infant and maternal death and also preventable death should not happen in the area.
